On Saturday, December 20th, 220 Secondary in Molo Town came alive with music, laughter and the sound of children having the time of their lives. Our Family Fun Day was everything we hoped it would be — bouncing castles, tug of war, soccer, bowling, dance challenges, musical chairs and so much more. But behind the fun was something even more meaningful. Entry to the event cost KES 200 for adults and KES 100 for kids, and we knew that for many families, even that small amount was out of reach. So we reached out to our partners and the community, and together we raised funds to sponsor every child who couldn't afford to pay. Because no child should have to sit on the sidelines of their own childhood.
A Day Packed With Fun
From the moment the gates opened at 8 AM, Family Fun Day came alive with music, laughter and excitement. The bouncing castle quickly filled with eager children, while the tug of war, three-leg race and family race brought out plenty of friendly competition. Musical chairs and the dance challenge kept the excitement going, giving children and families even more reasons to join in, laugh and enjoy the moment together. MC Ngatia and DJ Kym kept the atmosphere lively with music throughout the day, while the bonding session created an opportunity for families to slow down, connect and simply enjoy being together. From the first activity to the final moments of the evening, the day was filled with joy, connection and shared laughter — exactly the kind of experience Family Fun Day was created to bring to the community.

The Gift of Belonging
The real magic of this Family Fun Day wasn’t just the bouncing castle, music, races or games — it was a community determined to make sure every child had the chance to be part of the experience. With children’s entry set at KES 100, we knew that even a small fee could put the day out of reach for some families. Through the Adopt a Family Initiative, we reached out to partners, individuals and well-wishers, and the response was incredible. Their generosity helped open the day to children who might otherwise have missed out. They came together to bounce, race, dance, play, enjoy music, share food and simply have fun with their families and friends. It became more than a day of entertainment; it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community chooses inclusion. Because every child deserves more than an invitation to the fun — they deserve the opportunity to be part of it.

Children challenged one another in races, took their turns on the bouncing castle, danced to the music and joined in games, while families had the chance to relax, interact and enjoy the day together. Beyond the excitement, the event created something even more meaningful: a space where children and families could simply connect, have fun and feel part of a wider community. Seeing those moments unfold reminded us why experiences like this matter. Family Fun Day gave us memories to celebrate, new connections to build on and even greater motivation to continue creating spaces where children can experience joy, friendship and a genuine sense of belonging.
